Escape rooms create really fun activities for people to do in groups. They promote teamwork and creative problem-solving while working under pressure to escape a “locked” room. In addition, they help to create relationships between people since communication is the key to escape. People also learn leadership skills – learning when to lead, how to delegate tasks, and how to listen to others’ ideas. The club will attract a wide variety of students due to how much goes into an escape room. It will bring together those who like doing escape rooms, people who are good with problem-solving and logic puzzles, people who are creative and can create stories, and people who like to build things. Combining trips to local escape rooms and designing, building, and running escape rooms on campus will promote these traits among the student body.
